NBC Brings Back Rosie O’Donnell

I usually love NBC – but it seems that they aren’t always making the right decision when it comes to the shows that they air. My favorite show is ER and the fact that it is ending is depressing. This is only made worse by the fact that they are bringing Rosie O’Donnell into the network. The two signed a contract for her to headline a one hour long variety show/backdoor pilot that will air live on the eve of Thanksgiving, November 26th.

The title of the show isn’t very inventive as it is being called Rosie’s Variety Hour. The new show will start off with a topical monologue and will feature celebrity guests, comedy skits, musical acts, and of course prize giveaways for audiences in the studios and watching from their homes.

“This is a dream come true for any performer,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “Old time variety, live from New York with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher.”

The show is just a one-time special for now – but if it becomes a hit you can expect NBC to make it a regular show in their schedule. I don’t know about you but listening to Rosie O’Donnell is not my idea of a good time!
