Decorating Fireplace Mantels

February 24, 2009 at 2:07 pm (My Thoughts)

The different home that I am moving into next month has something that I have always desired in my own home – a fireplace! Living in the South there is really only one season in which to use it – but all the same it has its uses and advantages throughout the whole year. Depending on where your fireplace is placed and how it was constructed will depend on how well you can utilize it to complete the look of your home. Read the rest of this entry »

Making Sleeping Over Easier For Your Child

February 6, 2009 at 3:56 pm (My Thoughts)

Children love sleepovers because it allows them to play with their friends by watching movies, listening to music, and eating junk food. Sleepovers is something that every child looks forward to and if they could they would do it every weekend. The first time they visit a friends’ house for a sleepover is an exciting time for them – but most children (no matter how excited they are) will become homesick. In order to help make sure that they have the best fun is to prepare them for this visit. Read the rest of this entry »

How Great Are Silk Bonsai Trees

January 11, 2009 at 7:17 pm (My Thoughts)

I am someone who loves to own unique items. I have recently discovered the art and beautiful work that is put into bonsai trees. These are miniature trees that require pruning and special care in order to grow properly. However, they are difficult for many people to grow. For someone like me who is not great at taking care of plants I would rather purchase a silk bonsai tree.

Silk bonsai trees are hand made and artificial trees that have been made with excellent quality. They are great to have as decorations for your home or office and the best part is you don’t have to worry about watering or pruning them.

The trunks of these miniature trees are made out of maple, vine, or birch wood. The materials used for the rest of it are synthetic or Chinese silk. Some trees also use steel, Luna clay, and fiberglass. They are potted into containers that are made out of plastic, clay, or terracotta in order to give them a realistic look.

You can purchase them in a variety of styles, species, and shapes that include; maples, pines, elms, palms, plums, and golden ficus. In order to prevent the fabric from fading it is best to place it in medium light.

Not only are these trees perfect for decorations – but they also make great gifts. The price of them can depend on the materials used to make the trees and how high the quality used to make them.

Flower Tattoos

December 3, 2008 at 9:46 pm (My Thoughts)

One of the most common tattoo designs that women choose are flowers. There are hundreds of flowers in the world – but usually there is only one in particular that we love. For many it is the rose. This is a very elegant flower design and would look great if you fill it in with color. You could do a design that was not too big or small and have the thorns on the edges of it. You might even be able to add a dew drop on it to make it more beautiful.

I know one friend who wanted to get a daisy tattoo on her back. It was very simple and her favorite flower. Plus it was a true sign of the kind of person she was. Whatever design you choose will show off your character and who you are to people around you. If you put a skull on your arm people are going to assume you are a punk. If you have a beautiful white flower then they will see that you are gentle and kind.

All you need to do is know what type of flower you love and where you would like it to go. You could even add on to it. Maybe put someone’s name underneath or a birth date. Be creative and you will enjoy it that much more!

Coach Diaper Bags

November 28, 2008 at 9:02 pm (My Thoughts)

Mothers usually have to carry around diapers, wipes, a bottle, at least two pacifiers, and of course an extra change of clothing. That doesn’t include the wallet, keys, and cell phone that they have to carry for themselves. I see some mothers who will carry around a bag for their children’s belongings and then one for theirs. Instead of carrying two separate bags why not put them all together in a handy diaper bag.

Of course you don’t want to just get any diaper bag you want to get one that shows your not just a mother – but a sophisticated mother who knows how to keep up with the latest trends no matter how many diapers she has to change a day. With that being said you should choose a Coach Diaper Bag.

These trendy diaper bags come available in dozens of different styles and colors. They are large enough to fit everything that you need without feeling like you are carrying around a piece of luggage. You can purchase one diaper bag that will match any outfit or you can purchase a few of them to match different ones.

Now you can not only show off your new trim figure – but you can also show off your great new diaper bag – which people will love. When people saw me carrying around a Coach diaper bag they kept stopping me and asking me where I got it. They couldn’t believe that it was a diaper bag and they desperately wanted to get their hands on one.

Getting My Daughter To Eat Her Veggies

October 30, 2008 at 10:03 pm (My Thoughts)

I love my daughter and I want to make sure that she grows up to be big and strong. To make sure that happens I have to give her the right amount of fruits and vegetables. But let’s admit it this isn’t always an easy thing.

There are obstacles that we often run into when trying to feed them these foods. Fruits are by far the easiest for them to eat because they are sweet and therefore very tasty to them. The veggies is where we find the problems.

Remember that your children will usually follow your cue. So if you are not eating any veggies then they won’t want to either. Eat the same foods that they are eating and they will be more inclined to eat it too.

Another great way to give them their veggies is to hide them. Mix them into their potatoes or other foods. Make sure that they don’t see this and maybe just maybe you can fool them!

Pocket Rocket Quad For Birthday

October 26, 2008 at 8:46 pm (My Thoughts)

My daughter’s birthday is rolling around and I am trying to decide on a great birthday gift that she will love. She is a bit of a tomboy like her mother was at that age and loves to spend most her time outdoors in the fresh air. Unfortunately there isn’t much to do outside besides run around and as she is an only child that can get boring when your just playing with mommy. I am contemplating getting her a mini pocket rocket quad.

A mini quad is a smaller version of a four wheeler and is designed specially for children. At least that is how they seemed to be designed. They range in different sizes – but many of them look like only children could fit on them. However, you would be surprised to see just how many adults will buy them for personal fun and even for racing. I suppose these are the new go karts. They are just as fun – if not more – and thank heavens they are not as noisy.

Depending what size you want partly depends on how powerful you want it. Obviously I don’t want it to be ultra powerful because she has never driven anything before and she is still young. Naturally she will be driving this on a back lot or road where there are no other cars around or people to run over.

Many of the mini quads can be adjusted to match the riders’ height – which is great! This will make it easier for her to ride it while I am on it. Someone has to show her how to operate it. I just hope that she will enjoy it.

Understand The Meaning Behind Your Dreams

October 21, 2008 at 11:18 pm (My Thoughts)

Many people believe that dreams are a way for our subconscious mind to send us secret messages. They believe that these messages can reveal what to expect in life and how to live. This is called dream interpretation.

In order to understand the hidden meaning you must be able to decipher the code hidden within it. Interpreting dreams is not always an easy process and is something that cannot be done through a professional. Only the person having the dream can interpret its meaning.

This process is something that a person must practice at and learn in order to perfect it and get it right every time. The first thing you will need to do is learn how to write down your dreams the minute they are over. Dreams can leave our heads as quickly as they came so try to remember every detail exactly before it can leave.

Once you have described and written down everything ask yourself questions. “How did my dream make me feel” and “What real life occurrence did my dream remind me of?” and write the answers down.

You will find that these dreams will remind you of past situations. Be careful because some dreams have more then one meaning. Make sure that you analyze the dream and learn exactly what everything means.

Can Biodiesel Help The Gas Situation?

October 3, 2008 at 4:22 pm (My Thoughts)

Biodiesel is referred to as the mono-alkyl esters of fatty acids that is taken from animal fats and vegetable oils. In order to produce this the catalyst needs to be potassium hydroxide or potassium.

It is distinguished from the straight vegetable oil (wasted vegetable oil) that is used as fuels in certain converted diesel cars. It can be used in pure form or might be blended with petroleum diesel at almost any concentration in certain modern diesel engines.

There are several different solvent properties that parodies and will degrade natural rubber gaskets and hoses in cars – though many of these will wear out on their own or will be replaced with FKM. FKM in non-reactive to biodiesel. Biodiesel can break down deposits of residue in the fuel lines where petrodiesel has been used. Because of this fuel filters can become clogged with particles when there is a quick transition to biodiesel. That is why it is important to change the fuel filters on engine and heaters quickly after they have been switched to a biodiesel blend.

The whole thing is rather hard to understand thanks to my lack of knowledge in this area – but it seems to be a very popular subject. Many people feel that it could help fight against the increase in gas prices. In fact there are ways that we ourselve can make biodiesel. Could this be what we all are looking for?

NBC Brings Back Rosie O’Donnell

October 2, 2008 at 9:41 pm (My Thoughts)

I usually love NBC – but it seems that they aren’t always making the right decision when it comes to the shows that they air. My favorite show is ER and the fact that it is ending is depressing. This is only made worse by the fact that they are bringing Rosie O’Donnell into the network. The two signed a contract for her to headline a one hour long variety show/backdoor pilot that will air live on the eve of Thanksgiving, November 26th.

The title of the show isn’t very inventive as it is being called Rosie’s Variety Hour. The new show will start off with a topical monologue and will feature celebrity guests, comedy skits, musical acts, and of course prize giveaways for audiences in the studios and watching from their homes.

“This is a dream come true for any performer,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “Old time variety, live from New York with a nod to Ed Sullivan, Carol Burnett and memories of Sonny and Cher.”

The show is just a one-time special for now – but if it becomes a hit you can expect NBC to make it a regular show in their schedule. I don’t know about you but listening to Rosie O’Donnell is not my idea of a good time!
